so, what're we looking @?

Atl vs. Giants?
Reds vs Phillies?

as a phils fan I'd much much rather face the reds, I hope they dont flip-flop positions so we have to play the Giants series 1... tough to want to go up against that pitching staff even if thier offense suxxor...

As a Giants fan, we don't want to see the Phillies first either.

Good point but whatever team it is...we'll be ready!
  • Whoever faces the Reds, watch out for that 105 mph fastball image

thing is; the Phillies lineup as been decimated by injuries all year unlike any other team in the majors.

factor in we still keep giving Dobbs ABs for some reason and the phils'd be more like .288!

    WOW.
    http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/split/22/league/nl

    Phillies O vs. SF P
    .226-3-25 (OPS .670, 29 runs)

    SF O vs. Phillies P
    .290-8-26 (OPS .787, 27 runs)

.226?!?! how are they scoring 29 runs without hits or HRs?

    odd.

Everyone knows the Giants and Phillies have great pitching but the Reds starters are under-appreciated. Arroyo, Volquez and Cueto are pitching very well and add in Travis Wood....I feel confident with them. Chapman may be the difference maker. Our achilles heal is Cordero. I don't feel confident giving him a 9 run lead with 2 outs in the 9th.

I will put our offense up against anybody's. We have slumped a little in September but we are in October now.

    Good luck to everyone's team

    Go Reds

Are the Reds going to use him as a starter in the post season, or is he going to be used out of the pen?

They will use him out of the pen. He is not ready to be a starter yet in my opinion. The Reds are going to score runs. He will be a situational middle reliver UNLESS Cordero blows his first save. If that happens, they may be forced to make him the closer or at least include him as a closer by committee.

  • Or if they play the Phillies, they use Chapman against Howard in ANY later inning meaningful at bat.
Are you sure about that five minutes!?

Reds may be a deer in the headlights this year. I don't expect them to score near their average for the year. May be swept in first series. I do hope I'm wrong.

Ralph, I have to say I agree with you to some degree. We are overall a young team but we do have some veteran leadership who has won a World Series. I think we will either get swept in the first round or win the whole thing.
