94 topps finest baseball question

sitting here with a maddux card here..... looks all nice and shiny....did the refractors have the word "refractor" on the back?? none on this card... also have 2 stockton cards from 93 topps finest nd they look like this one... did they have the refractor word on back on these issues?? thanks ivan

1st year finest basketball refractors did not have it on their backs I don't know about the BB

No not until 1995.....

The word refractor does not appear until 1995 although many 1995 refractors have a variation without the word printed on the back.

There is an obvious difference between the regular and refractor cards in terms of jewel like shine.

It sounds like you are making a common mistake, the all stars (such as Maddux) and rookie subsets from 1994 have a different rainbow background but are just a part of the regular set.

Scan would tell however.
