Another Superbird for the collection from Heritage

Well was watching Heritage's auctions on saturday and thought i would try and pick up another Superbird 1952 proof quarter. And for just about half the cost of the first one. Do you think this one will crossover at the grade? Oh well i think i got a good deal and really like that variety.Superbird

Lowering your dollar cost average is a good thing. Don't know the series well enough to judge the cross. Congrats!

It sure is beautiful and the S sure stands out in Heritages pic


the coin looks like it could be weak in frost on the eagle to CAM at PCGS

but grading proof coins from pics is nect to impossible

Nice pick up! I like the ones with the old FS number. I plan on leaving mine
in the old holder.

Before I tried to cross it, I would ask PCGS customer service if they will designate the coin as a Superbird. I thought I read somewhere that they were ceasing to designate it (or maybe it was at NGC).

Anyway, tough to tell whether it would cross to PCGS at the same grade - PCGS is tougher on cams than NGC.

Personally, I would leave it in its existing plastic.

15-20% could be a good number. In my experience, if anything, it might actually be higher.
