Long Beach Show report
The weather was beautiful in Long Beach (sunny and clear,in the mid to high 80's-great golfing weather) so I only attended in the A.M. on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday. The bourse was active on Thursday with good attendance, slower on Friday, and a slight increase in collector attendance on Saturday.
As I strolled the convention floor, I could not help but notice that the bourse floor is shrinking. Not literally, of course, but there is a considerable empty
floor space that, in the old days, were populated with booths. With that being said, there is still a considerable number of dealers, both large and small,
still doing business.
One of the first things I did was to view the ESM early proof copper. I don't think I need to tell you it was an awesome collection to behold. Next, I took my up
and down the aisle routine peering in dealer's cases looking for coins for my collection (high grade brown Lincolns) and things that pique my interest (type coins
with attractive toning, toned walkers and standing quarters, etc.). And after three days, I purchased zilch, zero, and nada. This is a rare occurence for me but
maybe I'm getting too picky in my old age. That is not to say there weren't plenty of coins for sale because there were plenty out there. Just none for me, I
guess. For instance, if you like gold, there was a lot of that available. Tons of Morgans and Peace dollars were available (not the rare date dmpls though).
Lots of modern stuff, and raw silver to be had.
Visited with Wayne Herndon and Andy Skrabalak and chatted for awhile. I saw Charmy who teased me with a Lincoln she just bought for her own collection.
I got some coins imaged by Todd who seemed to be very busy and who, by the way, is gaining in popularity because he does an awesome job. Submitted
some coins to PCGS and got a plus. Below is the coin that got the plus (new tag being imaged by Todd).

Sunny and warm again today, so its off to the couse I go!
