Have you recently become interested in collecting a new series?

I'm mainly interested in upgrading ~6 coins in my toner Franklin set and in completing 2 year sets; 1858 in business strike (no gold), and 1893 in proof cameo (no gold). While I quite enjoy it, the finds that look acceptable are few and far between and tend to be expensive, so I find the urge to buy some less expensive material just as a "fun" set. A couple of months ago I stumbled upon a pretty 1940-S Washington in an old fatty greenline NGC MS66 holder. I liked the look of it and bought it. Given that my expertise is in the Franklin 1948-63 field, it occurred to me that I could put together a toned 1940-64 set of Washingtons, predominantly in MS66 with the occasional MS67, reasonably inexpensively and transfer a lot of my knowledge of the "look" of given date/mm from the 1948-63 era. Also, the coins are silver and of a fairly decent size, which I like. I'm not interested in the pre-1940 coins as that can start to get pricy. So, have you recently become interested in collecting a new series? The images are by Shane Canup and I think he did an excellent job.

I recently started a side project of Peace Dollars:




I say "side project" because I'm not planning on committing a lot of money and time to each individual coin so much as just enjoying building the whole set. I do plan to splurge on a good 1921, though, and I'll have to spend the money on the 1928. But, other than that, I'm doing this one for the fun of it, while my gold sets get the serious work.

Yup. I've completed three series and recently got interested in large cents. I've a long way to go but I just love these old, weighty coins. I'm much more tolerant about crud and verdigris on copper this old. Environmental damage bugs me though.

Lately ive been finding myself paying alot more attention to lincolns. Im kind of in the denial stage of it right now as ill look at them and turn away and make sure no one is watching me then continue to look at them again. I dont know how much longer its gonna be till i crack and start buying them like mad .

I got bored and started making a set of CC Morgan dollars in ok grades, after I bought one I decided I would just go for MS grade CC Morgans.

Lots of Great Material out there in the raw so should be fun...
