Mexico 1834 1/4 Real Copper Double Struck

Is there a Real demand for the double struck ? (sorry for the play on words)
It's cool but ??
What Grade would you call it ?

  • The "real" problem here Smitty is that this is only one fourth of a reale. According to Krause the value has not gone up since 2004, so doesn't appear to be much interest in this particular series. If this was the overdate it would be worth a few centavos more. As far as condition is concerned, it seems to me that older mexican coins were not that well struck to begin with. If you look at the Krause picture of this coin there's however seems to be well struck for the date. My guess would be vg. Not enough tail feathers to be fine. I would be interested if you are in a selling mood.image

i would have no problem calling that a Fine (they were crudely made and weakly struck)
