You ought to read some of the "Tard" comments below the story.

There is inherant risk at any sporting event. To think that MLB needs to take action now , show an absolute disconnect with reality.

These people need to find a self contained bubble and smell their own fumes. They then might want to venture out into the dangerous "real world " and have some fresh air.

They should consider banning maple bats (or at least build them with thicker handles), but they will not until someone loses an eye or gets killed.

Here's hoping that the barrel of a broken bat will come whizzing by the head of Bud Seilig while he is enjoying a World Series game from his front row seat. Maybe then he will pull his head out of his posterior and seriously address the problem.
