  • The price will differ depending on whether the card is a no number variation.
  • It is the no number variation. How does that affect the value?

  • I just acquired a raw, no-number version of the card and I think it's a PSA 4 at the very least. I'm just trying to get a feeling for the value
  • Oh wow, jimrad, I didn't notice that bottom part. Thanks so much for your help! What's the story with the NNO version? Were they part of an early print run, then Cracker Jack decided to number the series?
  • Does anyone know why the unnumbered version of this card is more valuable than the numbered one?

    It's scarcer.
Make sure the number was never there. Lots of doctored ones out there.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Past year major hobby auction results for the (PSA or SGC) graded no # version have been $920 for a VG, $1,390 for a VG-EX.

Nice to see some good vintage chatter on the boards here!

Here is a picture of my Bresnahan NNO. The number 17 would normally appear at the top center of the card.

  • I decided to put it on eBay tonight. What do you guys think? Should I pull it from eBay and get it graded? Also, what grade would you give it?

You wont get the true value with an auction like that. Your feedback doesnt back up this type of sale. You should send it to one of the major auction houses and have them grade it. If you dont you probably will get 1000-1500 less with this type of sale if it is real of course.

I'd grade/holder that card before I sold it.

    Good for you.

Newbies may want the card but newbies dont buy raw as often, especially E145's, because a high % of the E145-2's are doctored reprints.
Id advise getting all E145 cards graded by SGC or PSA for top $$, especially the Bresnahan no# (because there are "doctored" ones with the number removed).

The no # variation is only found with this Bresnahan card so it was most likely a screwup that was fixed early on. It used to be thought of as far scarcer a few years back, but more have come out of the woodwork lately.

    Thats what I was thinking.
If he knew to come on here and ask. And they showed the numbers for graded cards. Why then not get it graded. Selling raw will always lose. And the guy has sold PSA graded stuff. But that was 1982 Cal Ripken PSA 8 type of stuff. Seems a bit off. Like most that come on here with this same story. I might be wrong. But its the same song.
  • Just got my grade from PSA: 3 VG. I was hoping for a 4, but I guess the staining or surface wrinkles were too bad.
  • If you get a chance would love to see a picture here on in the set registry cracker jack thread.
  • Here are pictures of my slabbed Bresnahan. Sorry it's a little blurry.
