    how will you know if it's one of the first 200. Nothing on website says first 200 are different. (that I could find)

    If you read the main D. Carr thread (the one with over 900 replies), Dan says unequivocally that coins shipped before a certain date &/or with order numbers under a certain number are of the 1st batch. He also said that he has ONLY shipped from the FIRST batch thus far (as of yesterday night). He also confirmed EXPLICITLY that my order number was from the first batch. I'll post a link later to the thread and copy the pertinent parts but I've got to get off to church right now.

    p.s. you sound like a nice parole (probation???) officer. Hope I never need your services though. image

    I wonder how many he sold other than these PCGS forums. My guess 9 out of 10 buyers are buying because they think they are going to make money or just following the herd. $110 is a lot for $15 worth of silver. How come you're not buying the 1/10 Proof Pioneer with over $125 worth of gold and a $40 premium over melt? Most likely because the herd hasn't turned in that direction. Who bought a sealed box of 2006 ASE sets (10 sets) for (approx.) 10K? A forgotten impulse.

    Apparently the first 200 or so are the so-called matte finish that were struck four times.
    The second striking of 90 were only struck once at higher pressure, but many of these have issues concerning the previous rims being knocked down into the design, somewhat unflatteringly. Acc'd to Carr, some of these may be released at a discount price.
    A planned run after those should be decent single strikes, for whoever knows how long, given that Carr may change his technique again at any time for further strikings.
    IMHO, I'd suggest simply purchasing from him whatever is currently available, and given that, I wouldn't value a flip of one of the first 200 at more than a $25 premium.

    we won't continue the debate over here regarding the 'authenticity' of the dollar. It's been thrashed to death in the other threads, but suffice to say, I did order one for grins and it just arrived in today's mail. Awesome looking coin! It's a keeper.

    Has it been confirmed ANACS will be slabbing these? I believe in one of the locked threads, D.Carr said they will not issue grades but they my slab them. Let me know if you heard something new. Thanks Mike

    Anacs has been slabbing DCARR mint medals & other re strikes made by him in the past with a set grade. These Peace dollars are no exception, and the set grade should be MS68. Anacs will be at the LB Coin Show this week, so I will drop this fantasy re strike dollar to them.

    Shouldn't most of these responses NOT be in a BST trade and rather should be on the coin forum (or, if not allowed there, then in PMs?)?
    All these responses do is bump the thread over legit BST threads (and, yes, I am guilty now too, but I am hoping it ends here.....)

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
