MEARS and JSA questions

Ok, most of you know that I am new to the hobby of vintage ball cards and one thing that has always held a fascination for me is autographs of my favorite baseball players.
So, I was on a site and saw a banner ad for MEARS. I went and checked it out. Seems that there are lots of autographs that they have sold that are of players I like and also in my price range.
So, has anyone ever dealt with MEARS? It appears they are a reputable auction house.

Also, I see that on their auctions the autographed items have a JSA LOA. Is that a good sign that the items are legit? I checked out the JSA site and it appears that JSA is a large firm that specializes in autographs and memorabilia. I have read about the large numbers of fakes out there and want to protect myself. If it comes from MEARS and has a JSA LOA with it, can I be pretty certain that the items are legit?

Thanks,
Arex

James Spence (JSA) is very reputable. You can have confidence.
  • Both MEARS and JSA are highly reputable.

Thanks, that was the information I was looking to hear.
I was amazed (i imagined prices being much stronger) for some of the pieces that were sold in the last MEARS auction.
I would love to add pieces from some of the legends of baseball and they seem to be much more affordable than I thought. For example, a Musial auto'd bat went for around $100.
That is stunningly affordable for me

I agree with all of what has been said so far. And I can vouch for Mears auction side as I purchased a lot of autographs from their last auction. They shipped very quickly and I couldn't have been happier with the service.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

I have been to Mears for a signing and I believe they get most of their items for sale in person.
