I kinda like the new design. Too bad Topps feels obligated to put borders on their base cards - those would look sharp with a full-bleed design. That would defeat the endless parallels, though.

I hate the sticker autos. At least UD and Donruss use transparent stickers, not obnoxious silver ones.

IMO The last decent looking set was 2007 just because it wasn't the same old white framed card. Then sets 2001-2003, 1999, and 1998. I would really like to see a 2 tone color card like they did in 1975, but not done with the same design.

I think most people who were kids/young teens in the '90s will be okay with this set.

I personally think it's a pretty solid outing.

OK - I guess I will be the first. I like it. I'm an old guy, not a kid. But after all of those horrific sets of the late 80's and early 90's, I think this one looks decent.

Why do they feel compelled to release the design of these cards EIGHT MONTHS before the next season begins?!?!?!

As for the design, they need to do better.

I think they release everything too soon. If they feel compelled to put most of the more creative cards in the Updates & Highlights, then they should wait until the post-season is over before printing the set.

Their base product is also priced too high @ $1.99 a pack.

With all the inserts do you get three base cards per pack??

It looks like they are going overboard, and a lot of "1 of 1's"

One series with 52 sets inside??

I wish they'd come out with a set that has a potrait on it. 54 and 83 come to mind immediately. (IMO two of the best sets they ever made.)

I think it would have been neat to have that diamond border like the Jeter on the main base card. I think that is a neat design.

Does anyone remember the years of the gold borderd cards? YUCK!!!!!!!!!

I personally like the design but wished they would shake it up alot more each year. Inserts look nice and they are putting a little more value in the base brand.

If they trully wanted to make a good base set, get rid of Heritage and make the regular Topps like Heritage with a a new design and include the autos and game used normally found in Heritage.

Get rid of Heritage???? To me that is the only thing that is interesting to collect today.....

The regular series has the autos and the game used gimics as well.

I wish they would get more creative with their design, (a regular issue portrait design would be interesting).

All the planned error cards and 1 of 1s....are the sizzle (that few actually get)... too bad they can't go back and focus on the steak.

But that's what the new collector wants I guess........

They can't give rid of Heritage now!! I still wanna see the 1971 and 1975 sets done Heritage style!

Also, I think it's super weak that Topps is not including any kind of 60th anniversary logo on the base cards. Also, it was stupid of them to do that "one of every original Topps card" randomly inserted in the packs last year when they should've saved it for this year (just like they did for the 40th and 50th anniversaries).

So what are all the 60th anniversary related goodies that will be featured? I'm guessing the diamond bordered Jeter is one clue.

Heritage is running out of steam just like Ginter. Make it a set inside of regular Topps or a variation like they did this year with Bowman and Bowman Chrome in their football products.

Before too long Heritage will be onto sets people don't care much about (61 was a big test) like 1968 or 1970. I can't imagine it lasting that long at the current crap returns per box in Heritage.

WoW....you didn't just pull a vintage original Topps 2009 Ryan Howard!!

I think last year it was worth 50 cents...........but this one has a big gold foil stamp on it so it's worth a quarter!!


I admit it probably isn't easy to work at Topps and try to think up promotions to push your product, I think that was the attraction to Heritage, to go back to the day when it was simple collecting of the set.......but I guess that wasn't good enough either..it's a business

Please, Topps, do not do away with Heritage. I want to see it continue even up until the junk sets. Just because the 1987 Topps set is worthless doesn't mean that 2036 Heritage will be. (That was actually a serious remark).

I think it would be a shame to discontinue Heritage. They only thing is that I wish that they would have done the set 50 years apart instead of 49. It makes it a little confusing. I don't go for all of the extras anyway. I just like the base cards for my Cardinals teams sets.
