Just got Min GRADE (oc)---What is that?

from a recent poppage, one of my 63 Bev Hillbillies got Min Grade (oc) and looks just like the other 6 i sent in which rec 6's and 7's which i was expecting--anybody know what in the world this means? all the borders are fine front and back--a head scratcher

Comments

  • it was sent in raw like the others--if it helps i can scan-- really puzzled by this--thanks

EDITED: to add that i looked on the submission form to make sure nothing was inadvertantly added for a min grade--nothing on there

I think my reading comprehension is very low this week... so you're saying the card came back not graded, and had a "Min Grade (OC)" note on it?

When you say case, you mean a holder? Or a CS with a red cert?

I have seen them before, but only if a card I wanted to grade at a certain level

did not meet the min requirement. The OC was the reason in this case.

Generally I'll get them for MC N9 I think it is.

This what I think he is talking about.

For some reason the grader thought this specific card had a min grade.

I agree, I've never seen anything like it. I'd contact customer service.
  • ok--when LSU said that, made me think that maybe the grader got it in their head that the min grade was a 5 after seeing delcared value of 5--the rest were 6's and 7's so a 6(oc) would be a 4 and not meet min req of 5--how does that sound?
  • The graders don't see your paperwork.

Have you contacted anyone in customer service yet?

    Carol
  • hi Carol--i havent--guess i'll do that now--thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can only write a "Minimum Grade Request" if you're using their Crossover Service.

Sounds logical...only it is a labeler error, not the grader.

In either case, you are likely best leaving it in the funky case, perhaps? Better slabbed funny then not slabbed?
