A Gretzky in PSA 3 is extremely rare. There are 606 in PSA 7, 440 in PSA 8, and a whopping 46 in PSA 9, while only 75 PSA 3 exist in all know universes.
  • Did not check bid history but going by the feedback of the seller it would be easy to imagine a scenario of hooking a sucker and shilling the price up.

The high bidder is no longer a registered user and the underbidder has a feedback of zero. Remove those two from the equation and the card prbably sells for under $150. Not saying it would sell at that price as some snipes may not have fired in the last few seconds because of these 2 high bids, but it may have been a more normal senerio.

    Donato

Edited to add the bidding history.
Hobbyist & Collector (not an investor).
Donato's Complete US Type Set ---- Donato's Dansco 7070 Modified Type Set ---- Donato's Basic U.S. Coin Design Set

Successful transactions: Shrub68 (Jim), MWallace (Mike)

Quebecois got no sense of humor, i sense a hanging. image

  • Hah, Bill searching hockey. And I thought I'd seen it all. image
  • Maybe that a card's worth what someone's (fool or not) willing to give. Not what VCP says.
Guess the VCP price just went up for PSA 3's huh?

You are not missing anything. This card is not selling.

Top bidder is gone and number two has zero feedback. You can say gap down! This puppy is back down to $200 or below.

In reality you could see some out of the ordinary sales in the grade range of a 3 and 5 but looking under the hood is all you need to do here.

This POS is either relisted or a shill gone wrong.

So the idea would be to buy a PSA 7, 8 or 9, crack, let the kids play with the card for awhile, and then resubmit.

Among this great ebay sellers former items are.....

    Multiple Jordan Reprint Rookies sold
Bobby Orr Rookies Sold (Reprints graded by KSA)
    Fake Gold Jewelry
    Numerous Bait and Switch Items

Pretty obvious this ebay hero was shilling. Another fine example of ebay entrepreneurism
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I am number three on that bidding list. The seller sent me a second chance offer the next day for 131.00 but I think I will pass.
