New England Sports Cards and autographs

I know NESC is one of 4SC's IDs and that you should not buy from NESC when looking for gradable cards. However, I found a listing by NESC for an autographed card I want and wasn't sure if I should stay away from buying unslabbed signed cards sold by NESC. Any thoughts?

Auto I am interested in
I would just buy it for that price, but I don't want to blow an additional $20 trying to get it slabbed if I shouldnt have bought it in the first place.

I think you meant to say you should NOT buy from NESC when looking for gradeable cards.

Got a link to the auto?

I would treat that like any other auto missing a COA, as if it were any other buyer. The risk isn't too high here, but that's for you to decide.

That's what I am trying to do by making sure there auto rep isn't the same as there card condition rep.

  • I actually bought a bunch of autos from the 70's and 80's from them about a month or so ago. They are authentic autographs. They must have purchased a collection or something. Seems like the collection was collected in the early 80's, especially considering most were signed in ballpoint. I picked up some nice autos for a really good price.

As far as authenticity goes, you are safe.
  • Ive have no problem with NESC. Ive purchased many nice gradable cards from them. The one thing you
want to watch out for is print defects. They list a lot of cards with printing Flaws. You do need to check the scans closely.
Wax stains are another item they conviently leave out of the descriptions. I always ask before buying.

With virtualy every card on ebay being grossly overgraded and stated. NESC is actually one of your better options.

Ive gotten many nice cards from them and if they send me a "dog" I simply return it and they promptly refund
    no questions asked.
    Free shipping as well.
