Any national championship dreams are gone.

I don't think I was alone at the beginning of the season that VT had no chance at a National Title- there were too many better teams then and there are only alot more now...

    sorry... reality check

Regardless, Boise state is one of those teams, NO ONE wants to face right now.

They barely beat a VT team that just lost to a high school team. Doubt too many schools are scared of them.

Another overrated All Crap Conference team coming down to earth.

At least they can look forward to the Meineke Car Care bowl if they scrap for 6 wins against powerhouses like Duke, Wake Forest, and Central Michigan.

Would you want to play a team thats won 16 straight games?

Why not when 14 of those 16 are equivalent to high school teams.

LSU I think you are wrong about the high school teams. I don't think Boise State gets enough credit. By and large their schedule is easy but Fresno State is in, or near, the top 25 every year. Nevada often has a good team. They generally play a Pac 10 team like Oregon State who has been a perenial decent bowl team. Sure they play Utah State and the others every year which are easy wins but I think their schedule is not as easy as some make it seem. Plus, winning EVERY game is tough to do no matter who you play. Also, a team like Utah State gave mighty Oklahoma a pretty good scare last week! Just sayin'....

    LSU-
Here's another way of looking at this issue. If Boise State is nothing to worry about do you think your mighty LSU Tigers (or any SEC team) would accept a home and home series with them? Give me your honest answer. I am a UCLA fan and I can almost guarantee they aren't accepting such an offer from Boise State. I realize UCLA is not much of a team right now but same theory applies.
  • Fresno St and Nevada were both 8-5 last year in a weak conference. That is not a good arguement.

I actually would love to see Boise State make a BCS title game just to watch them get crushed on a big stage by a real team. Then hopefully we can end this conversation for a few years.

Fresno St and Nevada were both 8-5 last year in a weak conference. That is not a good arguement.

I was actually looking at the last 5 or 6 years. During which time Boise State has won about 95% of their games. Fresno and Nevada have been good teams on the field, been in bowl games, sent players to the NFL, etc.... Same could be said for Hawaii during many of those years.

Plus, like I said Boise beats some decent non-conf teams. They beat Oregon last year who peaked in the top 5 before losing their bowl game.

I am NOT saying Boise would be 12-0 in the SEC. Don't get me wrong. I am just saying I think they are much better than some (like you) give them credit for.

I hope they are able to get to the national championship game. I would love to see what they would do and I hope it's against an SEC team.

However, last year they (and TCU) were screwed in their bowl game by pairing them against each other. I don't think the BCS powers-that-be wanted to take a chance on TWO little guys beating up the big guys.

The Boise State team that beat Oklahoma, in the Fiesta Bowl, was a lot of fun to watch. It's my opinion that the team they have now is a deeper and better quality team.

Plus, to ask my previous question do you HONESTLY think LSU would accept a home and home with Boise State?

Having said all that they could lose to Oregon State and it's all irrelevant.

Interesting info on this web site. Of course just some people's opinions but interesting. LSU is mentioned as not wanting to play Boise but just some guy's opinion. Obviously, anybody can say anything on the internet. For what it's worth:

Would love to see that this year so we could continue the SEC's BCS title streak.

Agree with you there. Boise having to play TCU last year was an insult to both schools.

Most fun my wife has ever had watching a non-LSU football game on TV.

LSU, like most major colleges, have an almost set in stone schedule for the next few years. Only exception is one or two out of conference games which usually goes to a cupcake team as a warm up for conference play. Can't blame any school in a major conference, especially the SEC, for scheduling "easy" non-conference games.

Just for the record, LSU did have North Carolina to open this year. It's not our fault all of their players were ineligible.
