O/T - Let's remember

Being someone who lives near NYC, nine years ago today is a day I will never forget (As I am sure most of you will never either). I knew someone who died in the Twin Towers that day. Please keep all those who lost their lives that day in your prayers and thoughts. May they all rest in peace. Thanks.
STAY HEALTHY!

It's a day I remember more vividly than just about any other. Outside of the day I was married, I don't think another day compares.

I was a freshman in college, sitting outside of class, waiting for class to start when I first heard a tower had been hit. I remember what I did, what I said, and what was running through my mind. I thought about the hotel bombings in Africa immediately. I remember loathing the thought that Bin Ladin may have had a major hand in what transpired and continued to transpire thoughout the morning. I remember being pissed off that my arsenal was 400 miles away with my parents and trying to plan for the worst should martial law ensue, or should we need to rally a militia.

For an hour or so, I don't think anyone really knew what was coming or how long it would last.

God rest the souls that lost their respective lives on that tragic day, and those who've done so fighting to prevent another day like 9/11 from occurring.

Memories usually fade, but the things we need to remember never will be erased from our minds. There will be justice on this planet and beyond for the evil that perpetrated those acts. As torn and broken as our country often seems, Americans' unique ability to unite like no other people is ever present. We did it on 9-11 and we'll do it again if need be. image

  • I moved away from NYC but a part of me is still there. I was in NYC 9/12/2001 through 9/19/2001 looking for someone close who we never found. I remember it was a complete war zone. I saw things I wish I never had to see.

Here are pics of the last time I was there during a memorial 9/11/2006...

I posted on my facebook page some of the things we need to remember . I have mixed feelings about what happened , but the things I do remember was the GREAT bravery shown by the first responders and the resolve shown by the people of NYC.
