I don't do the Registry thing but I thought I remembered reading that you had to have 90% of the set complete before registering it in order to get the free gradings.

The way to do it is, first register your set with the registry. Then, fill out a PCGS submission form, and explain on the form that yours is a free submission -- you need to provide the name of your set on the sheet. They will process the coins as usual (you do need to pay for mailing the submissions back, though). Good luck!

I'm told it needs to be a new set, and 90% complete. I realized I was only 2 coins from a 90% proof Ike set, so I bought 2 PR68DCAMs for about $15 each to get the 5 free gradings... I've got 5 real nice raw Ikes to submit.

  • You first need to contact Gayle to verify your set quilifies. With changes to the type sets, I have been concerned I would not get mine for the 1959-proof set, which are in the mail. To quote BJ on that subject "We will, of course, honor anything you have sent in prior to the change
    over."
