Ebay new invasion of privacy plan.

Well it was't bad enough that the US Government is going to start going after online sale taxes Ebay
has found a brand new way to let everybody know your business and make it easyier to track Ebay
Sales.

EBAYS NEW BRAINSTORM

I am all for reusable boxes as long as they don't say Ebay on them may as well say steal me on the box.
This is not sitting well with me it's bad enough the Ebay Labels on the bubble mailers now this soon the
Government is going to find a way to make everyone print what is in there packages and then what's
next.

What do you guys think.

no one ever stole my boxes with huge marijuana leaves on the sides and labeled "Live plants, please deliver promptly"

No big deal to me either way. No one forces me to use the boxes to send items, and if I'm receiving items and I don't want a neighbor seeing my stuff on the porch or some other reason, I'd rent a PO Box and pick them up from the post office. No different than any other box to me.

Mike & Mike I like the idea just not with Ebay on the box if these were reusable USPS
boxes I would be all for it.

Also what do you do with all the boxes if your only a buyer?

..."eBay believes that a single box reused five times could save nearly 4,000 trees, 2.4 million gallons of water, and conserve enough energy to juice up 49 homes for a year."

I'm feeling a bit slow today. If I'm reading this sentence right, it takes 800 trees, 500000 gallons of water and enough energy to power almost 10 homes to make an eBay box?

If I was only a buyer and got the boxes, if I was a recycler, I'd just break them down and take them to the recycle bin, if I wasn't a recycler, I'd just break them down and throw them out. I realize that wouldn't be the "gimmick" that the company wants, IE, reuse, but that's just how it goes. I personally wouldn't treat them different than any other box.

I have no problem with the recycle part of it. It is the privacy our the lack of privacy of something I am buying.
My dad buys coins from the US Mint but the boxes don't say US Mint on them common sense there
valueble coin right so why not cards our anything bought off Ebay?

I do commercial pest control for a living. I found it quite funny that at the bottom of the article , their biggest concern was about the spread of bedbugs. If these retards were that concerned about bedbugs ( as well they should be ) , they might take off their fecal stained glasses and question , "Where have all these bedbugs come from of late? " Those of us that deal with this everyday , know the answer. The answer is offensive to the folks that brought the problem to the USA , therefore we can't discuss it.

This country has gotten to the point where solving problems is worse than pretending there is no solution. Shame on us.--Sonny

  • hummm bed bugs eh? never thought of that. i got a huge hate on for e-bay right now and believe their claims of a enviromental saviorship box is as outrageous as their fees. I get my boxes from the grocery store free, plus they smell like mac and cheese!!
Why do superheros only hang out in New York or L.A.? Why not Bangor??

I think you may be overreacting. Amazon boxes are labelled and that hasn't caused a problem.

    This bedbug tangent is interesting.

I keep any bubble mailers I get that are in good shape and re-use them. Go green and save some green? Ok.

Wow, where to start on this one!!??

First, THIS was the best innovative thing all the Einsteins at eBay could come up with?

Second, arent ALL boxes, by definition, reusable?

Third, the above quote is EXACTLY why propganda works so well in today's society. The more absurd the claim, the more people will undoubtedly believe it. FIVE boxes save 4 thousand trees??? 2.4 Million Gallons of Water? And conserve enough energy to juice up my home for the rest of my life pretty much? Good Lord, next someone will be telling me that voting on a bill before reading it is better than not passing it at all. Oh, my bad!
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
