Gold question please????

Someone here locally wishes to sell me 2 $10.00 liberty's for $1,300. These coins have a few minor scratches I wouldn't send them in for grading but they look OK and have that nice crusty gold look. My question is how much gold is in 2 of these coins? is the gold amount of both coins the same as a double eagle? and is his asking price fair? THANKS

Going price I'd say. Should be same amount Au as a $20 gold piece.

$10 gold liberty has .48375 oz of gold.

$650 a piece is a decent price......you probably won't find one in decent shape much cheaper. I buy them when my local shop has a few to sell.

cheap, you should have already paid the man and holding them in hand. vf coins are more, gold @ 1254.
