How do you get large images on your EBAY items

I upload my images from my thumb drive to my auctions on EBAY. I scan the cards at 200 DPI on my EPSON V300. Do I have to pay more money to have the image large on EBAY? I upload great scans on these boards with the same ones from my thumb drive but they are not as nice on EBAY. When you hit the "enlarge" on the picture it just doesn't seem sufficient for my auctions. Any help would be much appreciated.

I use Photobucket and paste the "HTML Code" link into the HTML section of the auction description. It might take you some experimenting, but it works for me. For Example

html is pretty simple if you know how to use it. Also there are software programs that help you write html code like dreamweaver to name one. I don't use them I already know how to code stuff. I just use a plain old txt file to write mine. Also I use a template and just change the cert# image and title which makes it easy.

Also, if you see someone's set up and want to use it for your own, you can "borrow" it, and edit it accordingly.

I like the plain style, simply because I'm lazy.

Ebay limits the size of your scans, they might also limit
the quality (not sure how).

As others have stated, self host using Photobucket or some other
free hosting site and you'll be much better off.

You might want to boost your dpi to 250-300 too.
That will help with getting more detail on your scans.

Something I do is use an HTML editor, like Dreamweaver. I'm sure you can find something for cheaper or free out there. You can design the page like you're using MS Word, then copy and paste the HTML over into your listing to get the same view. I then copy the html out to a text file and paste it back in for every new listing and change the description and image locations.
Another good idea is to make sure that the images you're linking to aren't too small in view. If you have your code made an image 800 pixels wide, and by default the image is only 400 pixels wide, it will look really grainy and crappy.

I used to write code for people for their ebay listings.

Here is an example of the template I did for a coin guy.

He made a killing on these sets back in 2007. He was pulling $120-$160 per set and sold around 30 of them! He also paid me quite well.

HTML is only for the template. It does not increase/control the picture size.

For larger images, you can either use ebay's picture hosting which results in additional fees. Or you can host the picture from an external site (some are free some are pay) and then point your ebay description to it (via an HTML link).

That is incorrect. With html you can embed a 3rd party image not hosted on eBay. And yes, you can control the image size:

I agree HTML is the only way to go. I started by copy stuff and then trying my hand at adding stuff thry notepad. Probably not ideal but I used it alot.

The best thing is I could keep adding picture after picture, line after line and it would all go into the description. If you ever wonder how people get about 100 pictures on one ebay description without having to click on links thats how.
