Help with these please

I purchased these today from my local B&M. They each weigh about 5 ounces - .999 silver. Anyone know where they are from or anything about them?

Thank you,

I have seen them before but there is no premium for them - in fact you may be offered less when you sell them. I try not to purchase that type of stuff anymore. I think they fall below christmas rounds in the scheme of things.

Art medals made by Medallic Art, probably. Look for a marking on the edge (rim). Let us know if you find anything.

Most seem to be .999, though I think I've seen some in sterling.

Medals like these are not popular among straight bullion buyers, but you may do OK selling them as collectibles during the Civil War sesquicentennial years (2011-2015).

High relief on some fairly nice looking medals, though!image

They are nice in looking in hand and are marked pure silver .999 on the rim.

    Thanks everyone for your input.
