My oldest boy was 6-weeks early. Weighed 5-1/2 pounds. Tiny little thing. He's now 6'2" and a senior in college......time certainly does fly.
Interestingly, if he hadn't been 6-weeks early, he would only be a junior now and I'd still have another year of tuition to pay.......ugh.

Thanks to this response, I called our school board to inquire. Assuming the rule doesn't chang, he can start the 1st grade at 5 years old because he was born prior to September 30th.
