THE BURNING CROSS OVER

Actually it's more about what's NOT burning or crossing.

I've have more than a dozen NGC and ANACS (new & old) graded coins FAIL to cross in the last month.

Anyone else feeling the pinch?

    I've been 1 for 2

And then I figured it was a waste of money after that. But that wasn't bad I guess, 50%. Even though it was only 2 coins image

Yep. One of the reasons why I've gave up on AU58 and moved on to MS63BN for my Indian Cent set... I don't know what I was thinking.

Last month I had an NGC MS66FB cross to PCGS at MS66FB. Since I am new at this game...it is the one and only coin I have ever tried to cross. Beginner's Luck Maybe? I have an ANACS MS64FB that I am waiting to send in....in the next few months.

I recently sent in three anacs indians heads two 1904 rb ms 63 and
a 1879 rb ms 63. They all crossed and they all bumped to rb ms 64.
Last quaters cc special I sent in a PCGS 1870 bn ms63 for secure
plus grading and it bumped to ms64 no plus.
I have a lot more trouble with raw coins than crossovers
I am about 40% on my raw submissions and some of them
hurt me. A friend of mine sent in eight morgans and only two of them crossed so you are not the lone ranger we all feel your pain to some degree.

I am batting 100% with a few up grades but I look for coins that I think will cross. That being said there are plenty of PCGS coins that wouldn't "cross" back if it worked that way. The plastic is only a good place to start with your assessment of a coin and not the whole picture.

I assume you mean failures to "cross at grade" and not "cross at any grade".

I am 95% at crossing but only about half achieve the same grade.
