Seller wants $500 for this 1638 Thaler. Is that a fair price? If not, what would be? No clue here.

VF should run much lower. This one has nice original toning and a nice look yet should run in the 300s tops.

Thanks for the info and link but I'm only looking for 1638 coins. That's the year my family came to America and I was hoping to find some coins that they could have had in their pocket.

Is it fair, yes but you should be able to get a higher grade speciman for that year and type from Austria, imo for the price.

Thanks Zoahr. I decided to take the eBay route and sold this week that same day as it was listed. The buyer is somebody that I have purchased from many times with excellent results each time.
