I just called Goldline because of an offer. They are offering russian 5 ruble coins for $271.46 ( just sold out can we call you back? ) and 10 ruples at $543.14

Spot was less when they "sold out" but let's consider it at todays $1235 ok?

Its an old marketing trick to get you to call so they can sell you something they do have. At a great premium I'm sure.

Limited Quantities of Historic Gold Coins Now Available
Goldline recently acquired a very limited number of the Russian 5 Ruble gold coins. These coins, which were minted between 1897 and 1911, circulated throughout Russia during the reign of Russia’s last Tsar, Nicholas II. Each coin contains .1244 ounces of gold and features the profile of Nicholas II, "Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias" on the obverse. The reverse of this coin displays the Russian Eagle along with the 5 ruble denomination in Cyrillic and the year of mintage.

To acquire these historic coins, you must act quickly because supplies are extremely limited. Call your Account Executive today at 866-867-4466 . When you call, ask how your order can qualify for free shipping. We encourage you to act quickly. Our last coin special of British 2 and 5 Pounds proof coins sold out quickly and we anticipate similar demand for these coins.

Provident Metals has the 10 ruble for $387 and some change. They're sold out of the 5 ruble. They were $169 when they had them.

That's weird. 'dem 10 Rubles calculate out to $271.70 in gold at $1,235.00, which is how much they want for the 5 Rubles. 'dem joiks is trying to get double what melt is runnin.

Russian bullion used to carry a premium, but I didn't think it was ever THAT much! I guess that's why I've never owned any. Funny thing, that price of $543.14 is also exactly double of the gold content in the 10 Rubles as well.

I had thought that Goldline was trying to be somewhat competitive, but these prices make Monex look like pikers!

No -- 10 Roubles, as made = .2489 oz. troy pure gold. Gross weight of 10 Roubles, as made = .2765 oz. troy

    .2489 / .2765 = .9001 fine image

    .2489 X $1,235.00 = $307.39

    $543.14 - $307.39 = $235.75 premium or 76% above melt.... Such a dealimage You snoozed you won !!
