Anybody interested in Germany regional “micro currencies”

Just came across an article on Numismaster that talks about regional micro currencies currently in use here in Germany.

Linky
Im located in Germany and plan on going to one of the towns which use an alternate currency within Germany, and was wondering if anybody is interested in purchasing some. The currency in use on one of the towns is the Chiemgauer and is pegged to the Euro.

Ill be taking the trip in the week of 30 Aug if anyone is interested

Interesting. Notgeld for the 21st century?

Would be more appealing if it had the array of designs like the old notgeld had. The notes pictured aren't terribly exciting, from a design standpoint.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

I agree with you, I wish too that they had some cool desgn on it. Looks more like a certficate than currency. Intersting concept and I wouldve never known had it not been for the Numismaster article. Ill be going to one of the towns (Prien am Cheimsee) that exchange Euros to Chiemgauer next week. I'd like to see what some of the other micro currencies look like but it seems like the Chiemgauer is the most popular
