Value on a GSA 1884 CC Unc Silver Dollar?

I'm a currency guy helping an aunt out by selling some estate coins. Most are commemorative silver and gold sets (Liberty, Constitution, Olympics, gold eagles, etc.). Also gold and silver Israeli and Jamaican commems. Are any of these sets worth more than the bullion value?

The oldest coin in the batch is a 1884 CC dollar in the GSA case with original papers. Can someone provide a price range on it?

What year on the Jamaica?

CC dollars to highly dependent on grade, at least a good picture to help give you an idea would be wise.

I think the range for these is probably around $140-$160 and not far from whatever CDN price is for non-GSA unc coins. They were pretty weak a year ago and I can't imagine they would have gotten stronger. Doesn't really matter how nice the coin is unless it's a strong 64 or better. They are handled as if they are generic.

Thanks for the replies. I opened the Jamaica box and was surprised to discover currency, not coins. It is a series 1977 $1, $5, and $10 notes, each with red seriels *006168. I will check on the currency forum.

Retail on the 84 CC should be close to $185. The price like always depends on the condition, as some are very baggy.

I just bought one for a client a month ago...paid $154 for a raw MS63.

Figure $160 to $180, unless it will grade higher than MS64, is attractively toned, or is PL/DPL.

Most run-of-the-mill pieces are about $160-$175.
