Same here, but could see a 5.5 too. Nice card.

That ink line bothers me, I know it is on many 54's.

    The rough cut is ok.

    The corners are 5 ish.

Overall it is a nice mid grade card.

    I'd say EX.

My guess is that it'll come back in a PSA 6 holder.

Easy 6. PSA often doesn't mark down for the print lines (although they should).

    I'm guessing a PSA 6.

I think its a slight tilt, not a trim. I will say 5.5

I hope I am wrong but the bottom two corners look like they have been messed with. Look at the rough cut down the left side it stops about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the card. I think someone either re worked the corners or just tried to improve them a bit. The same goes on the right side but not as bad.

I hope I am wrong. Still a nice card with a 5 to 5.5 chance if not altered.

    I am thinking PSA 6....
  • I believe it is EOT looking at it more the bottom half inch or so on the right side is way off. Notice the left hand side is about the same distance all the way down from the side of the holder, the right hand side bottom corner is pushed way in from the top right. Hope I am wrong..
  • Thanks for the input guys. This card isn't altered, I'd bet the farm on it. My dad owns a pawn shop. I was in there one day and this fella brought an old model airplane box inside, flopped it down on the counter, and asked if we bought baseball cards. My dad directed him to me. He said he inherited an entire house full of antiques from his uncle and that this box of old cards was in it. He opened the box, and inside were 8 stacks of 50 or so each. They were all 1954 Topps baseball, 1954 Bowman baseball, and 1954 Bowman football cards. At first glance, I was floored, because the cards looked pristine, like they were fresh from packs. At 2nd glance, I became sick, because each stack had a rubber band around them. The bands were so old, that they were dry rotted to the top and bottom cards in each stack, but the ones in the center were untouched. These looked as if they were put in this old airplane box, which was also from the 50s, right after they were made. There was the Aaron, a Kaline RC, a Willie Mays Topps and Bowman, and many other high grade cards. He told me what he wanted, and I bought them all. This was 3 years ago, and I have since sold every card but the Aaron. I saw the odd cut and did some research and found the cards pictured above with the same exact cut. I am assuming that the Aaron was placed on the uncut sheet at the bottom, and when the machine cut some of them, it tapered in, similar to when you try to cut a stack of paper together with scissors and some of the sheets taper in, and I think that explains the odd cut. Anyways, I'm thinking a 6 as well.

  • The ink line looks pretty bad from the scan. almost looks like a surface wrinkle. I say psa 5.
  • PSA 5.5....the streak!
  • Not a wrinkle, just the standard roller mark, it's as smooth as a baby's butt.....
  • I think it is a solid PSA 5 maybe 5.5. Good luck with the sub and I hope you get a 6.

    5-6 range. Nice card.

The lower right corner bothers me the way it's cut, but
I've seen PSA 8's with the same cut from this issue. So
I would think your card would grade.
  • Those 54 aarons always seem to have the rough edges on one side for some reason. Not saying they all do. Like a o-pee-chee.

PSA 5 if it doesn't get a MC qualifier.
