just sitting here scanning some cards for ebay and happened to read the back of Stan Coveleskie's 1961 Fleer card....now in this day and age it's hard to have a pitcher go a game without a base on balls....believe it or not Stan pitched 7 1/2 innings without a ball being charged against him, that's right WITHOUT A BALL being charged against him.....and to top it off it was in the World Series against the Dodgers back in 1920. Now I don't know how they figured the 1/2 inning but needless to say this is unbelievable considering most pitchers can't get past the first batter anymore without throwing a ball.....WOW!! al.
I know there is only one true Stan the Man who resides in St. Louis but I think for one thread we can all agree that Mr. C is one Stan the Man!!
