  • Very nice pictures and nice of you to share them. I went to the old Yankee Stadium one time and I don't guess I'll ever make it to the new one. Who were the Yankees playing and who won?

This is from Saturday's game. It was a pretty interesting day for the game. First, Javier Vasquez sucked monkey butt. First batter up, Ichiro slams one into the right field seats. And then I couldnt believe my eyes...some idiot threw the ball back on the field! What the heck! He is the owner of an Ichiro hit, a HR at that, of a player who will surely make the HOF!

Two batters later, Russell Branyan hits one of the most towering HR's I have ever seen live during an official game. It ended up in the upper deck of right field. A MONSTER blast!

Austin Kearns comes up for his first AB of the game. On the second pitch, he swings, loses grip of his bat it it comes flying our way. It landed 4 rows in front of where we were sitting. A woman got plunked in the head by the bat. Luckily she was ok. They did take her to have her checked out but she returned by the next inning. Some idiot trying to pretend to see if she was ok, went there and tried to take the bat. The woman's bf or hubby grabbed that bat out of his hands pretty quick. Wadda jerk off to try and pull a stunt like that.

Ichiro's second at bat and there goes another one into the right field seats. Someone was smart enough to NOT throw that ball back LOL

Saw rookie Edguardo Nunez playing third, get his first major league hit in his 3 pro at bat. I dont remember if that was the RBI that gave the Yanks the lead or not...but they gave him the ball and he gave it a kiss. Pretty cool to see a rookie with a huge smile on his face like that.

And I was real happy to hear "Enter Sandman"...ohh yeahhh! Always a treat to see Mo pitch. And to see him pitch live, wow, he throws HARD!

Fun day...I recommend it to anyone!

Yanks played the Mariners...final score was Yankees 9 Mariners 5
  • I was watching the Braves on TV Saturday afternoon on Fox and they took a game break to show the homerun in Yankee Stadium. Said it was the longest homerun hit there so far. I forgot to mention in my other post, I went to New York to see the Braves play the Yankees in 1998.

Thats a cool site. Even Robertson was up to 92 that day but it still looked like Mo was throwing harder. Maybe its like a trick your mind plays on you cuz of his awesomeness image

I went to the stadium on Thursday afternoon and it was Hope Week. They had a bunch of kids that had some sort of medical problems there to watch the game. They brought them on the field before the game to meet some of the players. They even had one kid announce the players in the 5th inning. During htat inning Derek Jeter came to bat and the kid got to announce him. I found out later that besides "The voice of God" he was the only other person to annouce Derek Jeter at Yankee Stadium. I thought that was very cool and very touching.

  • My Dad was at that game. Makes a Yankees fan like me a little nervous when our pitching gives up two homers to Ichiro. Sure, he's a great hitter, but he's much more Cobb than Ruth, yes?

    Wonderful pictures!

    That's still on my list.

I went to SEE the stadium when I went to NYC on my bachelor party back in March, but I still haven't been to a game. Though I still got a heck of rush at getting off at the subway stop, and walking up to the gates.

It's probably not appropriate to pry, but what's a seat like that run?

  • Do any fans ever wish they still played at the old Yankee stadium?

Well, they cost me ZERO LOL. My friend was suppose to bring her boyfriend but he had his kids unexpectedly so she called and asked if I wanted to go. She told me later that she paid 400 per seat at that spot. If she had bought behind the Yanks dugout that close, they would have cost her 600 each. I dont know how she purchased them though.

I didnt leave my seat...I wasnt going to let ANY of that 400 go to waste LOL

They are the best seats I have ever had at Yankee Stadium.

Goot, the new stadium is incredible. Yeah, there is something about the old stadium cuz of its history, etc but honestly, doesnt matter that much to me. It's still the Yanks in the Bronx!
