Can you help me with a price for proof sets?

Hello. I have a friend of my dad selling some original proof sets in the packaging still but the envelopes are opened. These are ALL proof sets. What is a fair price to buy them for from the man? These are the 30 proof sets he has for sale as 1 lot :

1 of the 1955
1 of the 1956
1 of the 1957 (missing envelope)
1 of the 1958
1 of the 1959
1 of the 1960
3 of the 1961
10 of the 1962
9 of the 1963
1 of the 1964
I had POSITIVE transactions with the following 31 members == Mach19 - Robkool - KollectorKing - ASUtodd - Coppercoins - Kalshacon - Whatsup - Commoncents05 - Cartwheel - Marmac - Thatoneguy - Collectorcoins - Delistamps - Bestmr - Cwazzy - Ajia - Nefprollc - Grote15 - Rampage - Grip - Rpmhunter - Chumley - 2272DavidG - Utahcoin - Cohodk - Ajbauman - Sportsmoderator1 - Sevensteps - Windycity - Pitboss - Starfish

    Personally I wouldn't bother if the price were more than $500. Under $500, I still probably wouldn't buy. None of those sets are difficult to obtain, including the 1954.

    Ebay would be you're best place to check for prices. Unless they have some REALLY nice coins, you're just basically buying them for the silver content which would make them around $12 each.

    FMV is around $872 or so. If they are average sets meaning all coins look like mirrors with no cameo or better appearance on the devices, I wouldnt even bother with the sets.

    No. 1954 and 1955 are worth about $100 each. 1956 and 1958 are worth about $40 each.

    10-20% back of Bid seems to be ~ the dealer buy rate (excluding the 'hotel buyers', who would probably buy the pre '61 sets as silver). Assuming you don't have a Greysheet:
    1954 = $87
    1955 = $135 (flat pack, you specify, $87 for the box packed)
    1956 = 43
    1957 = 20
    1958 = 35
    1959 = 19
    1960 = 18 ( more if it's the Small Date cent)
    The remainder are around $12 ea.
    From these numbers you'd deduct 10% or so, and this would put you in realistic territory. If you're flipping them, over 20 back, and be willing to sell them for Bid to 10% back. If you are buying them as a collector to keep, and want a good rapport with your dad's friend, offer 10% back.
