New unpublished Babe Ruth pics

Found this link and thought I would share it. Most of these are unpublished photos of the Babe on his final appearance at Yankee Stadium. You can really see just how sick he was that day. It's nice seeing some pics of Babe we have never seen before.

Great pics indeed Steve. However I have seen either the one taken before or after these unpublished ones.

If not before or after ones taken around the same moment.

    Steve

    Good for you.

  • I saw this a few days ago. I was struck by number 7, how the photographer said that he thought his shot was better than Nat Fein's. I mean, sure, it's a nice photo, but I couldn't imagine anyone else on earth could think it was as powerful as that image of Ruth with the vast stadium in the background. That Fein shot was as worthy of a Pulitzer as any that has ever won it.

I agree 100%, I thought the same thing when I read that quote. His other photos were powerful, but that one of the Babe standing back to the camera was the perfect photo.

That said, I did think the other photos were incredible, he really caught how frail Babe was that day. But none of them trump THE photo.
