Grades posted for some I bought raw... want to guess?

These went to PCGS as part of the 8 coin "freebie" submission that came with the CC thing recently. Just a couple of decent looking coins that I'd picked up raw. The 1818/7 half came from forum member Doh here... and the cents came from a Dealer I've bought occasionally from. No cheating if you already know the grades image

So want to guess what/or if they graded? I'll say that one of the three suprised me but then again, I have much to learn.

This one shows the color a little better of the 1818 cent but the pics are blurry...

AU55 for the Lincoln (but I'm a little skeptical - may be a gennie holder)
    VF30 for the half
MS62 for the Randall Hoard cent

    All nice coins IMO.

Thanks all for guessing. Here's how they graded:

Line # Item # Cert # PCGS No. CoinDate Denomination Variety Country Grade
    1 1 18241583 36628 1818 1C US MS63BN
    2 1 18241584 2537 1922-D 1C US AU53+BN
    5 1 18241587 39536 1818/7 50C Small 8 US VF35

I had bought the 1818 cent as a "nice AU58" but in hand I was pretty sure it would MS easy.

The 22-d is the one I wasn't real sure about as I've never sent in a Lincoln cent. A lot of you graded it higher than it came back and I thought it would grade lower. I really don't know how to grade them but it has a nice look to it.

I figured the half would grade 30 or 35 so I'm happy with it.

  • That '22-D is more than an AU coin for the money with that reverse, I'll tell you that.

    I think the '22D is undergraded...maybe 58. I would have graded the 1818/7 at a 30 and the cent at 62.

Nice coins! I like them all!
