  • This card is driving me nuts! I refuse to pay 4sc $175 for a psa 9 and the last two I saw go through auction went for more then that. So going to give re slabbing a try just paid $185 for these two cards.

I would pay the $175 for a PSA 9 1986 OPC Gretzky (that's what I paid for mine). BGS is notorious for grading sheet cut cards, that's why the premium for the PSA graded Gretzky card. PSA won't grade sheet cuts, hopefully your cards were pack pulled. I think I saw the 4SC card you're talking about, centering was off I think. The '86 OPC PSA 9 is a very tough card to find centered. Here's a link to mine if you want to check it out.

  • I never even thought about the sheet cut angle.

  • Hi, I was fortunate enough to sub a 10 in one of these, but I made previous attempts at cracking BGS 9.5's and sending them in with bad results. The cards were sheet cut, and PSA sent them back ungraded. Based on your scans, they look a lot like my sheet cut cards. If you do decide to crack them out of their respective holders, make sure they have some kind of OPC jagged cut.
  • Nice 86' opc Gretzky Scarlem21.

PM me if you have a well centered 88, 91, or 92 OPC of Gretzky in psa 8/9/10, those are the only 3 i need to complete my "basic OPC" set and publish it. Thanks!

Picked up a couple of early '90's OPC Gretzky cards that are extremely tough to find. The '91 PSA 10 is a pop. 22 and the '92 PSA 10 is a pop. 10. Glad to add these to my Gretzky collection.

  • Sorry, fogot to write a text under the photos - i found this old Wayne Gretzky Card. Its from the German Magazine "Magic Sport" from 1995.

As you can see on the backside, the birthplace of Wayne Gretzky is wrong.

I already have a few offers for this card. But can sofern tell me how much this is worth or is here someone who is interessted in this card?

  • Wondering about this picture. With autograph

I have a story about the great one and sports memorabilia which includes cards,it is off topic but interesting, before Gretzky went to L.A. no one was into hockey cards so when Wayne went on national television and with tears running down his face it captured the hearts of Americans so in 1990 five American traditional sport card manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon and these new kids on the block made anyone who was interested in hockey take notice because for decades there was only Topps and O Pee Chee ,unknown to me and thousands of people the new companies kickstarted a purchasing boom that lasted till all the good cards were gone and that took perhaps a decade, believe hockey me raw card shows were everywhere malls, church halls sellers were renting spaces in lobbies of hotels to many places to name, shrewd part time sellers of sport memorabilia started setting up shop at the new found shows and buying memorabilia from collectors who had items that were dormant for a century! During that period of time there were one show that happened twice a year "THE BIG ONE" in Toronto people were lined up for a city block to get in to purchase memorabilia,it was a shark fest the floor was the size of a football field people were climbing over each other to buy raw items ,now this is before PSA was around, i recall Harvey Goldfarb a seller from the area showing us cards that he got graded they were 1959 Parkhurst now this had out tongues a wagging.Fifteen years ago i went to this show and it is a shadow of it's former self,no more nice raw cards but nice PSA cards. The well is dry even on Ebay sellers are asking a kings ransom for buy it now graded cards.
