The National

The PSA team has returned from The National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore, MD. It was an extremely successful event. PSA performed on-site services for trading cards and autographs, receiving over 12,000 submissions. We also took home over 20,000 more collectibles for our regular services back at our cor...porate office. Our customer service staff was inundated with orders as the booth was swamped from Wednesday through Sunday. Equally as important, PSA’s presence was felt across the show as thousands of free special edition SMRs were handed out the entire weekend and over 1,000 copies of Collecting Sports Legends were distributed to every VIP and dealer at the show.

The PSA Set Registry luncheon was our most well-attended banquet to date. Every seat was filled and then some, with nearly 200 attendees present. David Hall, president of Collector’ Universe, Inc (PSA’s parent company) and Jeffrey Gitomer gave spirited speeches and several awards were handed out. This included our youngest winner to date, Dylan Lane, 6 years old, (almost seven)….perhaps a future grader at PSA? Tom and Ellen Zappala, authors of the 2010 release The T206 Collection: The Players and Their Stories, signed books at the PSA booth on Saturday.

We want to thank all of our great customers, both old and new, for coming out to see and support us. It is always nice to be able to meet the people who have made PSA what it is today.

Sincerely,

Joe Orlando

Even with my overwhelming duties as President of the Procrastinaters Union I want to take the time to RSVP and let you know I will not be able to make it this year.

Roy A. was fantastic at the PSA booth. He knew I was in a hurry and he got all of my submissions processed quickly. One of 'em has even popped already.

I always feel bad for Joe when I go to these major shows. Every time I look at PSA's booth, somebody's in his ear about something. Sometimes I can't tell what they're yapping about, other times it's clearly argumentative. He never seems to mind, but if I had that many people bugging me throughout the day, I'd have to pull out one of the baseball bats from grading, lol.
