July special popped

I usually just sub cards that i have and want to get them slabbed. As you can see i don't do a very good job screening.. most of the cards are odd ball panini cards ect... BUT the ripken i sent was perfect. I've seen enough cards to be able to tell the difference between a 9 and 7. I thought for sure it was either a 9 or 10. Is it worth calling customer service and pay again to have it regraded before they ship it back.. or just crack out and resub?

I wouldn't bother calling about the Ripken. They are SOOOOO picky when it comes to that card. The major problems than can get overlooked on that card is minor chipping, centering, very slight surface wrinkles. You may have missed something on it.

i'll post a scan of it when i get it back. The only flaw that i saw was the back was very slightly OC . The front was gem mint. I was amazed in how there was no chipping and sharp the corners were. The only thing it could be is surface wrinkle that i missed or the 55/45 oc on the back. I know 10s are pretty much a crap shoot. I would have been pretty confident that it was atleast a 9 though. The fact that it got a 7 makes me think i missed something like a surface wrinkle.

It could have been damaged in "shipping".

If you got a 7, it doesn't have a surface wrinkle. A 7 on a modern card normally means edge or corner issues.
