1998 P WAM + Die Chip

I got this out of a box of cents today. Its the first die chip WAM ive ever seen, on any message board ebay or anything. Come to think of it Ive never seen a die crack WAM either.

Here are some pictures of my find, I doubt it but is this enough of a chip to be a BIE?

There are quite a few WAM's out there sporting prominent errors, from off center strikes to laminations to (yes) die chips. I think my 98 WAM has a die chip touching the designer's initials. No premium over the premium.

It was customary to call any die chip in 'Liberty' a 'BIE'. Some folks went further with names such as 'RIT', LIIB', and 'EIR'.
  • I have a 30% off center MS-65 RD 1998 WAM cent I bought for $15 in a ANACS old small holder.
