What caused this PCGS plastic ring core to turn lime green?

    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Would any slab collectors here pay a small premium just to get a slab with a green ring?

    My guess is that this coin has either been improperly stored or an attempt has been made to alter the coin while in the holder.

    Either way the coin should be reholdered.

    I looked at my ANA purchases and saw one light green and one darker green.

    I think it's the sunlight theory. Lots of the older holder that had green lables are also turn yellow.
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    If you could figure a way to get a couple of more colors in there along with the green, you could sell it as a rainbow slab. image

    Nah, you can still call it a rainbow, even with 1 color....it's "market acceptable" image

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Insert manufacturer maybe outsourcing to China. Check it for the presence of melamine, lead, spent uranium, etc.

    Meantime keep away from children, pets, and Laura.
