Quick question - new pence

Hi,
Just checking if British New Pence are still legal tender, got a whole lot of 50 New Pence in a bulk lot of coins and noticed they're different size to the 50 Pence, are they still accepted and more importantly, are they worth face value?

Thanks,
Andrew

The larger 50p pieces of 1969-1997 are no longer legal tender and thus of no trading value. Other decimal coins no longer legal tender include the halfpenny, the shilling-sized 5p (last minted in 1990) and the florin-sized 10p (last minted in 1992).

Edited to add: apparently banks may choose to allow a one for one trade of denomination, but I wouldn't be betting on that happening if you were to have a pile of the old coin type(s).

Thank you, suprisingly hard to find that out with just a google search.
