North Korea announces pure silver and gold commemorative coins

Today North Korea announced commemorative coins for the "50th anniversary of Songun revolutionary leadership" by Kim Jong Il.
The pure gold one will be 35 mm in diameter x 2 mm thick.
The pure silver one will be 40 mm x 3 mm.

Evidently the denominations are still state secrets.

I don't think so. I have no idea what enforcement techniques they have.

I doubt you could buy them direct from North Korea, but give it a few months, they'll be on eBay.

THere are a lot of North Korean coins on Ebay.

Here is a PCGS graded gold piece now located in Massachusetts. Price has been marked down.

I don't think it would be legal to buy them directly from the DPRK, if that were even possible. I imagine they make their way onto the international market through China and Japan.
