59er OUT OF ACTION

Gonna be off the boards for a while as I have to have Major back surgery because of degenerative disc and spinal disease. Its taking place this coming Monday the 16th.I passed all my pre op exams and everything is on go.I hope this works so I can get back to a normal lifestyle as now I can not work or stand for any significant period of time 5 minutes or walk without pain.I am getting so tired of sitting in front of computers or lying around watching the Tigers lose almost every day .I will miss reading all topics on this forum and registry threads on 53 Bowman Color and 59 Topps.

Happy collecting and good old strong gossip in the meantime.

image These are my current feeling right now.

Hope to be back soon.

Yikes, just the idea of a back operation gives me the willies. Good luck with yours. Follow all of the aftercare procedures to the letter - my knee operation took a lot longer to recover from because I didn't bother with the rehab.

Thank You Guys.I consider you all friends even though I never met any of you. This hobby is my Passion.I have no one here that I can share with any longer as they either left the hobby or left the state of Michigan.I do not do Gibralter often anymore maybe once a year or so as there is nothing exciting here anymore to satisfy my taste. The only guy here Jim Rietz used to set up there once in a while however he does not do that show often anymore and he had nice stuff at his tables.
I am going to the National next year God willing and I will have a shirt that says 59er or fiveniner on the Back.

Hope to talk to ya all soon.!!!!!

I definitely wish you the best in your recovery.
My stepfather is having surgery soon for this same reason.

I broke a lower vertebrae about 8 years ago. I am hoping through stretches and exercise, I will avoid it in the future.

Did you doctor say there was a specific cause for you? My step dad's doctor blamed his smoking.
