Question: 2007 Topps #40 Derek Jeter Error w/ Bush - Mantle Gold PSA 9 Mint

I have this extra card...

What is the going rate for this card? Should I sell it or hold and unload it later. I am just curious because I noticed raw ungraded ones on ebay are $200 plus.

Sorry to ask but I have done search on this and no luck on any of the forums.

Thanks,

Tim

    Raw ungraded are $200 plus?

Perhaps that is the asking price, but a PSA 10 of this card just sold for $158- which means your example is worth invariably less:

    Linky-Doo

I can see no conceivable scenario by which this becomes more valuable over time. It was a manufactured scarcity -- and Topps has only made more and more of them over the past few years. Will it hold some value? Surely. Will it appreciate in value? I'm not sure how.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I was thinking somewhere in the $75-$100 dollar range. Am I wrong?

I didn't realize that the Topps variations carried over to the parallels. Beckett doesn't list it that way but that doesn't mean much. Do you think there are /2007 Bush versions and /2007 no bush? I would not have thought there would even be that many of the non-gold variations.
  • I think all the gold versions are the "error"

I won that PSA 10 card which was the upgrade to this psa 9 card. I will list it on my ebay store to try and make a little profit. I don't care if it sits there for a few years I just want to make my money back that I put into it...
