Cello vs Rack vs Vending vs Wax

As far as finding high grade cards, putting sets together, tamper resistant (have heard that buying opened and resealed vintage is sometimes dicey) what is y'alls opinion on which is the best way to go?
Im leaning towards buying a couple of cello boxes of 82 Topps baseball and perhaps some 85 Topps baseball as well. But before I do, I wanted to get opinions on the various options open to me.
Note, i do have a batch of 83-85 Fleer Vending coming my way so I have already bought some stuff. But before I buy more, just trying to learn what you folks have to say.
Thanks again, im learning lots here!

Wax is good - but there is the ubiquitous wax on cards to deal with.
Vending can be all over the place - dinger corners, tears etc.
Racks for me may offer the best quality - no wax - no tight cellophane corners to ding cards.
This is just my experience - and is not based on zillions of rips or anything.

Although I've had good luck with cello's.
Vending sort of makes me nervous, esp 70's. A box that old, with a bunch of cards inside. Something about it, it seems like a 1/4 of the box is going to be dinged.
Wax, I got lucky lately. Last week I got a box of 85 donruss from the bbce. 2 pucketts, 1 clemens. One puckett had a little white, ding, speck on it, but the others were 8's or 8.5's. Probably a lot of 9's and 10's. Pulled a very sharp, all black mattingly.
Unfortunately with rack, its the most expensive per card usually. The Baseball card exchange has an 83 rack box at $235, vs $50 for a vending box.
Is it because they're so much easier to search? More prone to dinged corners?
I have heard of people opening up factory sets of early 80s stuff and getting 10s from almost the entire set. I don't know if that is true or a lie. I know that the early 80s factory sets have the cleanest cuts. Supposedly the factory sets were cut with a laser. I don't know if that is true or not. I stick with rack packs they seem to be the best...

Thank you!
<< <i>Other than the BBCE are there other reputable places to buy vintage unopened from? >>
This guy doesn't sell a ton of unopened, but does sell a ton of stuff. I've had nothing but good experiences dealing with him. Ebay seller probstein123
