I asked about the Staubach rookie and she sent me this email:
"An expert looked at it and gave it a verbal grade, at a PSA standard. I assure you these cards are in excellent condition. Near mint, almost all of them."
<< <i>Q: Hi You appear to be a reliable and good seller. You are asking for trouble including PSA in your title and descriptions. Your 'expert' could be wrong and your buyers will feel cheated. Just a heads up. Steve Aug-04-10
A: Thanks Steve. Actually Im going to take the auctions down, go get all the cards professionally graded again, this time with documentation, and re-list. I feel extremely confident that these cards are correctly graded, but I want the bidders to feel the same way. Thanks for your help, Christine >>
This was from yesterday. Think she'll actually take them down?
Maravich is a PSA 5 at best. the montana might be a 7 , I see headaches ahead for this seller.
Looks like the seller doesn't deal with cards and probably doing it for a friend or just commission. I made this mistake with some Case XX knives about 3 years ago turned out some were counterfeit some were not and luckily one good ebayer told me what to look for and I pulled all the auctions did some research and relisted the real ones. There were 5 or 6 ebayers who were so rude and nasty, I put them on my BBL as they immediately accused me of being a thief/scam artist/counterfeiter ect ect and would not answer any questions about why they were counterfeits. It did teach me a good lesson. Don't list any items without doing some research.
Gave the counterfeits back to my friend who was heartbroken and pissed at himself for being taken he quit collecting knives after 25 years of collecting.
PS: have a bridge in brooklyn and some real estate in florida (swamp land) pls adv if interested ?
To all of the very friendly, and not so friendly fellow ebayers who took time to send me helpful and critical emails about my 7 rookie cards...the cards are being professionally graded today and will be relisted on Sunday. I did not know what I was doing listing these cards...as we can all tell! Im a jeweler, not a sports card expert. I learned much and I am now prepared for the 30 other cards which I will be listing over the next couple weeks. A special shout-out to Steve "hobby haven"..you were very nice! Christine- Vintage*gurl

Steve
Lucite case = over graded! in 99 out of 100 auctions.
Her claims regarding the cards will only come back to haunt her.
JMHO.

ummm, yeah right....
Is actually this in real life:
3 corners show wear and one has a ding.
The reverse has crappy top/bottom centering.
Her 'expert' is an 'expert' in BS.

<< <i>Thanks for posting the picture...I was going to say, isn't JJ McKay a syndicated DJ?? >>
I asked the seller "Isn't JJ McKay a syndicated radio DJ?"
Here's her response..."Yes, its the same JJ McKay. He's been on the air for 30 years, most recently in Denver on a sports network. Do you know him?"
The JJ McKay I'm referring to is a chick. This all doesn't smell right.
