Miami Heat play in Cleveland on Dec. 2.

I'm sure there will be more than normal security procedures for this game....

I would not be surprised if someone tries to run out on the court to attack Lebron or do some other kind of
foolish behavior.

Would you run up and attack a 6'7" or so basketball player. I know i wouldn't.

I would guess many would just like to mix it up with him, I doubt anyone would get seriously hurt, most likely
LeBron would just push the person to the floor if they even got that close to him.

He would be a subject of ridicule throughout the sports world if he chickened out, I don't think his
    ego could handle that.

I read something about that and the reason they didn't want to is because they felt the negativity surrounding
his leaving was not in the spirit of the holiday.
  • Yup, but I'm sure ESPN will make up for it when they get their hype machine oiled up and rolling for that matchup

For sure, the ESPN hype machine will be going full blast at least a week or more before the matchup.
  • They'll need to install hockey boards for the game to help keep fans away!

You're right about that. It's almost worth it for me to buy a ticket, buy a 32oz Mountain Dew, and toss a minor misdemeanor onto the court! almost... lol

It's going to be an ugly scene, no matter what. Cleveland, the home of the original "Bottlegate", will once again disgrace itself.

The best thing fans can do is boycott the game and have nobody show up... but that will never happen.

Speaking of Mr. Quitness... anyone hear about the Billboard a local Akron business owner put up less than two miles from Lebron's house? This is posted on the main drag (Route 18) on the way to Lebron's house, on the route to his house from the airport:

Heat will be irrelevant after the Celts beat them down on opening night.

yes, losing the first game of 82 pretty much ends an NBA team's season.

It should be a nail biter and I see the Cavs pulling it out.

I see the Cavs hanging tough right up to the opening tip.

what a bad comparison............................considering the entire context of that "incident" i'd say the fans under-reacted since the Officials clearly blew that call and lost control. not only did they screw up the play on the field, they couldn't regain control of their mistake and took the cowards way out by ending the game and running for their lives. just an ugly scene all around but i wouldn't blame it on the fans. i'm a homer but i'd like you to tell me what other fans in what other teams Home Field would have reacted differently??

if you need an example of unruly behavior by Cleveland sports fans you don't need to look very hard. do a Google search for Beer Night to get to the real humm-dinger!!! i missed this one but a few of my friends were out in Right Field. image

I was home on leave from the Army for the infamous Beer Night and was at the game. The week before they played in Texas and bad blood started brewing then....image It was just a coincidence but when I flew from Dallas to Cleveland the Rangers were on the plane...I even got Billy Martin's auto on the back of the book I was reading. I thought folks looked familiar when I got on, I noticed Alex Johnson but didn't remember his name until I saw Jim Bibby and Fergie Jenkins get on the plane. They were both huge. Funny is I mentioned to Billy Martin when he signed for me if he thought they would have any problems in Cleveland and he said NO....if he had only known the Indians had the beer promotion going. Needless to say things got way out of hand after some goof went out and tried to grab Jeff Burroughs hat...he was huge and why you would pick probably the biggest Ranger to try it with makes you wonder...from there it got worse....remember my brother running and standing on the mound until he saw the rangers grabbing bats and heading back on the field. Fans scattered after that. Needless to say this was probably the one promotion Indians management wished they hadn't done..... al. I was stationed at Fort Hood from 72 - 74 and was home on leave for the game...just a coincidence that I ws there but it was something else to watch.....bad thing about the whole situation is that the Indians would have probably won the game since they rallied in the late innings but forfeited when the fans went goofy.....

went back and pulled out the Martin auto I got......all I had on the plane was the book I was reading "Cinderella Liberty", which was also a movie at the time and he signed the inside of the back cover......
