North Korea soccer team receives its punishment for poor showing in the world cup

According to an article in USA Today the team had to appear on stage before a crowd of 400 govt. officials
and were subjected to 6 hours (yes 6 hours) of criticism and denunciations. The coach was also fired
and relegated to a factory job and kicked out of the Peoples worker party (I think that is the official name of
the Communist party in North Korea).

Well...they only scored 1 goal and gave up 12 in 3 games. That's pretty good, huh?! image

Frank McCourt should suggest a North Korea visit for Joe Torre and his players. Maybe that'll wake 'em up.

All things considered, I'd rather be in New York.
  • I'm still trying to figure out why they are even allowed into the WC in the first place.

I assumed their punishment was being forced to go back home.
