Auction House Question - Care they take to detect counterfeits

forget eBay, everyone here knows how good they are.

How much care does TT, HA, B&M, etc. take to detect counterfeits?

Do any of them have a policy in case a coin is later found to be counterfeit?

I think they do make a serious attempt and if someone points one out that they missed, they will remove it. And yes, they do have a return policy for counterfeits unless the lot is sold as is.

Does that matter? I was under the impression that selling a counterfeit coin was illegal unless specifically sold as counterfeit.

I guess the challenge question is:

do they make attempts to detect counterfeit slabs?
