Buying advanced autograph tickets for the National

Please forgive my ignorance, I've never gone to a signing at a show before.
If I'm still able to purchase tickets for these players, does that mean I would be guaranteed to get that autograph by standing in line? Is there some sort of cut-off? Is it limited to number of tickets or a certain amount of time?
Ripken is signing at noon on Saturday. What time do you think I should go get in line to ensure I get an autograph? If I buy a pre-sale ticket, and for some reason I don't make it to the front of the line by the time he's done signing, would I get my money back?
Like I said, I've never done this before (autos were never high on my list), so I have no clue what to expect. Thanks for any help!

Other than most extraordinary case, as long as you have an auto ticket you will get your item signed. They call people by ticket number, so the lower your number, the sooner you get in line.

Typically they'll announce ticket numbers 1-20 get in line, ticket numbers 21-40 get in line, etc. The numbers are of course sold sequentially so the sooner you order the lower your number will be. If your number is a ways off you can probably wander about and just check in every once in awhile.

For the National, you also have people who bought more expense packages to get towards the front so those people would be up front no matter what ticket number you have.
