A few of you have thought you spotted some bits of my collection whilst perusing the "inaugural" ANA World Auction, so yes, it's my finer British material which I consigned earlier this year.

For the most part, the HA images are quite good. IMO, Mark Goodman's images which I've shown here in the past will usually always be the best representation of the real "look", but as always, you the bidder should always engage an agent or view specific lots with your own eyes when making any determinations in the bidding process.

I watched most of Macs collection and barely even got a chance to hit the bid button on any of the shllings. Hope you are happy with the prices, the Vicky stuff seemed to go really well.

The 1840 shilling fetched a terrific price, as did the 1851 sixpence (I bid the latter up to 3k, but didn't get it, too rich for me!).

I was lucky enough to win the 1838 Queen Victoria Coronation Medal. I looked the coin over in-hand before the bids, and decided it has the most dramatic obverse relief I've ever seen on any coin or medal, and that includes a Saint Gaudens 1907 Ultra High Relief, which I've studied up-close. Also, if this coronation piece is not a proof, I don't know what is. Mind you, I've never seen a coronation medal prior to this one, but how anyone could anyone classify this as mint state is beyond me.

Anyway, thank you Mac, for affording me the opportunity to own and study such a cool bit of history. Have there been others graded by TPG's that you know?
