Weird Pop-up on this site

Logged on a few minutes ago and got a weird pop up like thing as I was searching the topics. I'm from the Sacramento area and the pop up was an ad for a roofer in this area. The roofer also was a BBB member. So when I tried to close it, my computer froze. This happening to anyone else?

    Using Firefox + Adblock Plus = I see no ads.

    Yea, it hasn't happened since. Just that one time

    The popup has nothing to do with this website. It likely has to do with an adware/malware virus you or someone else using the computer picked up from some other website or from downloading something, and anything could have triggered the popup depending on how the virus is programmed,..could have been text from this website or just random.

    Doing a registry restore is the easiest and best way to remove it...there is lots of info on the internet as to how to do a registry restore - do it in accordance with the operating system you have IE: Vista, etc.

    I'd give this a shot Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

    Free version work great at removing nasty things from ones computer.
